Board Members

Sally Marks, President
Sally C. Marks is a Senior Vice President and Senior Trust Officer at The Fauquier Bank and leader of Wealth Management Services. Sally began her career at TFB in 1985. She has completed various trust schools, including Cannon Personal Trust, Cannon Employee Benefits, American Bankers Association National Trust School and Graduate Trust School. She is a certified retirement services professional, and also holds series 6, 7, and 63 FINRA securities licenses. Sally’s focus has been managing the financial needs of her clients, including trust and estate administration, financial planning, and investment management. She is an active member of Warrenton Presbyterian Church, and has served on the board and as treasurer of Warrenton Presbyterian School since its inception.

Kate Warman-Day, Vice President
Kate Warman-Day is the Director of Operations for Mid-Atlantic Home Health Network, a family owned home health agency operating in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. She has worked in a variety of disciplines in the healthcare arena, and has practical experience in home health, supplemental staffing and long term care. A graduate of Strayer University, she and her family live in Jeffersonton, Virginia.

Susan Rae Helander, Secretary
A Town of Warrenton resident for the last 20 years, Susan joined the Board of Hospice Support of Fauquier County in 2013 and has served as president since 2015. Susan’s interest in Hospice Support was a result of her knowledge and use of the equipment loan closet in 2012; she has been vocal about her support and growth of this free service. She has been a commissioner on the Town of Warrenton Planning Commission since 2012, and a member of The Partnership for Warrenton’s Board of Directors, treasurer, and chair of the Design Committee. Susan is the Founder of the Warrenton Tree Board and The Pruning School. Prior to starting First Virginia Community Management in 2012, she spent 20 years in the landscape industry, has a Landscape Design Certificate from George Washington University and was a Certified Horticulturist. She has been a Master Gardener in both Fairfax and Fauquier Counties since 1986.

John P. Reid, Treasurer
John P. Reid has extensive mortgage lending experience with all types of mortgage products including FHA, VA, VHDA, FMHA and Freddi/Fannie conventional mortgages. As the Foothills Housing Corporation Executive Director, he is responsible for the management of all aspects of the nonprofit organization that provides safe, decent and affordable housing and serves a five-county area. He is on multiple boards, including the Virginia Housing Development Authority Rental Advisory Board.

Dr. Samuel J. Lloyd, Medical Director
Dr. Samuel J. Lloyd has been a practicing physician in Fauquier County for over 40 years. For the first 20 years, he was an obstetrician-gynecologist. During the last ten years, his practice has been limited to gynecology.
His educational background includes a B.A. degree from Princeton University and a medical degree from Johns Hopkins. He completed his medical training in OB/GYN at Magee Women’s Hospital, University of Pittsburgh. During his medical training, he published several papers dealing with various medical research endeavors. His medical training was interrupted by his service in the U.S. Army where he was stationed at Ft. Gordon, GA and spent one year in the Republic of South Vietnam. Dr. Lloyd has resided in Fauquier County for 41 years. He has six children and eleven grandchildren spaced across the country from Virginia and Long Island to St. Louis and Albuquerque, NM. He is currently serving on the Princeton University Alumni Schools Committee.

Rev. Dennis DiMauro, Spiritual Director
Rev. Dr. Dennis R. DiMauro holds a B.A. (1986) from the College of William and Mary, an MBA (1991) from George Mason University, a Master of Arts in Religion (2006) from Reformed Theological Seminary, and a PhD from Catholic University (2012) in Church History and Sacramental Theology. He teaches religion at St. Paul Lutheran Seminary. Before his ordination in the North American Lutheran Church in 2013, Dennis served as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve and worked for 25 years in the telecommunications and IT industries at companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Unisys, and Nortel. Dennis has been married for 25 years to his wife, Coco, and they have three grown daughters: Zoey, Lucy, and Veronica.

John Fox
As Executive Director of the Society for Applied Learning Technology, John Fox is responsible for management, marketing and product development. He organizes two conferences each year, which include 90 presentations from industry and academia. He is also responsible for two quarterly publications and website development. John graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. degree in history.

Jane McCrea Hurst
A Senior Executive Assistant at Marriott International, Jane McCrea Hurst provides all aspects of executive administration support for the Global Chief Communications and Public Affairs Officer. A graduate of American University with a degree in international relations, Jane is a Warrenton resident who volunteers with the Fauquier SPCA and is on the board of the Warrenton and Fauquier Chambers of Commerce. She is a member of the Partnership for Warrenton Foundation and the Fauquier Hospital Auxiliary.

Barbara Marmet
Barbara Marmet is an attorney at Walker Jones, PC. Her practice includes probate, wills, trusts, estate administration, business law, family law and litigation. Prior to joining the firm in 2015, she worked for the Virginia Environmental Endowment. Barbara is a graduate of Carleton College, where she was captain of the varsity swim team and majored in American studies. She lives in Warenton and enjoys hiking, canoeing and brewing beer.

Marshall A. Wallace
Marshall Wallace was born in Williamsburg, Virginia and has resided in the Town of Warrenton since 1992, after serving over 24 years as an officer in the Air Force. He is a former member of the Fauquier Hospital Board, a member of the American Legion Post 360, and Poplar Fork Baptist Church. He has traveled extensively internationally to Vienna Austria, Brussels, Belgium, Germany and other countries working international software, database development, satellite programs, project management and strategic planning. Marshall is a graduate of the University of Virginia (where he met his wife in 1974) and holds a Master’s of Science from Central Missouri State University in Business Management, Industrial Production.

William J. Clair, Emeritus
William J. Clair (Bill) hails from Rochester, NY. He holds a B.A. degree from St. John Fisher College and a M.S. in history from the University of Wisconsin (Madison). He served with the U.S. Navy as an air intelligence office with Attack Squadron 35 embarked on the U.S.S. Saratoga. He remained with the U.S. Navy Reserve, attaining the rank of lieutenant commander. After teaching social studies in the Rochester, NY City School District, he relocated to the Washington, DC area to join the U.S. Civil Service. In 1965, he was appointed to the U.S. Foreign Service and spent the next 15 years posted on assignment to Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia; Asmara, Eritrea; Nairobi, Keny; and Port Louis, Mauritius. He retired from active service in 1993 but has remained as an independent contractor serving private and government clients worldwide. He moved to the Warrenton/Marshall area over twenty years ago. He is married to Judy Clair, a retired family counselor who was also a vice president and longtime member of the Board of Hospice Support. They have three grown married children — one in Los Angeles; one in Erie, Colorado; and one in Sterling, VA. He has five grandchildren. Bill has been a Board Member of the Hospice Support of Fauquier County for over five years. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Bellevue Land Owners Council, and the Fauquier County Preservation and Heritage Foundation.
